Apply to Sponsor a Workshop

The In-Touch Science Team will provide trainers for youth agencies who wish to sponsor a workshop for their staff.


What does In-Touch Science provide?

  • Workshop leaders -1 leader/10 participants
    (Includes leaders' time, travel, lodging, and meals)
  • Publications for each participant
  • Workshop supplies
What are the sponsor's responsibilities?
 
  • Reimburse Cornell University at the rate of $100/participant.
  • Provide adequate training space. Remember that the Team will need 2-4 hours to set up and 1-2 hours to clean up so reserve the facility for sufficient time.
  • Provide tables large enough to seat 8 -10 persons and to set up supplies (8 tables for 20 people; 12 tables for 40 people).
  • Provide chairs (1 per person).
  • Provide overhead projector.
  • Provide access to water.
  • Recruit and register participants.
  • Inform participants about housing, meals, transportation, and parking options. Sponsors can choose to provide these services, charging an appropriate fee.
  • Share names and contact information of participants with the In-Touch Science Team.

How many people can be accommodated?

Minimum enrollment is 20. Maximum enrollment is 40.

Can the host have input on the workshop agenda?

YES! Although the Team has standard workshops, we welcome suggestions and ideas.

What are the workshop hours?

Team-led workshops are 8-16 hours. The Team and sponsor agree on a suitable date. Both weekdays and weekends are possible.
